“The platter was lathe-turned from Big Leaf Maple burl then the moccasins were carved from the burl. They were textured by hand to create “faux beads” and simulated quill work and then painted with acrylic paint. The “medicine bundle” on the left side of the platter includes a medicine bag carved from walnut, leather strips, a turquoise medallion, antique glass trade beads, brass beads and cone with porcupine hair.”
